Meet Jim Loy, Jr.

20+ Years of Experience

Jim Loy Jr. is a third-generation steel industry expert.  His first job in the steel business was as a Telemarketer – a position that offered no accolades and slightly above minimum wage pay.  This job instilled a fearless mindset and drove home the importance of prospecting, follow-up and meticulous record keeping.  Jr. has also worked with numerous steel tube mills, fabricators and flat providers over his 20+ year career.

Meet Jim Loy, Sr.

45+ Years of Experience

Jim Loy Sr. began his career at Alpha Tube Corporation in 1977. He worked in operations until 1979, then moved to a Sales Desk. In 1982 he relocated to Knoxville, TN, where he represented Alpha/Beta Tube in the Southeast US until 1988. From 1988 to 1992, he worked at Sterling Pipe & Tube as a Regional Sales Manager and Vice President of Sales. In 1992 he founded Loy & Associates and has served multiple principles for 30 years.

“Be mindful of an everchanging landscape in the business world. There is nothing surer than change,” said Loy Sr. when asked what words of advice he would give to a younger person starting their career.

Meet Chris Lampe

40+ Years of Experience

Chris Lampe earned his Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing from Elon University in 1985 and has dedicated over four decades to the steel and metal industry. With 30+ years of experience as a Manufacturer’s Representative, he brings extensive expertise and deep industry knowledge.

Growing up in the business, Chris was immersed in the industry early on, as his father co-founded a stainless steel tube mill in North Carolina. This background provided him with hands-on experience from the ground up while pursuing his education at Elon. Throughout his career, he has taken pride in building strong client relationships, helping businesses grow from startups into multi-million-dollar enterprises.

His career advice is, “Develop your character so that you are a person of integrity.”

Meet Ryan Lampe

5+ Years of experience

After earning his Bachelor’s degree in Business Marketing from Appalachian State University, Ryan began his career with one of the largest shoelace manufacturers in the United States, where he quickly rose to Director of OEM Sales before transitioning to the steel industry, following in the footsteps of his family’s legacy.

As a manufacturer’s representative specializing in stainless and carbon steel, Ryan brings deep industry knowledge and a strong commitment to customer success. His grandfather was a founding member of a stainless steel tube mill in North Carolina, and his father has been a respected manufacturer’s representative for over 40 years. One of Ryan’s proudest achievements has been working alongside his father and launching his own representative agency, continuing the family tradition of excellence in the steel industry.

His advice, “Don’t rush, trust yourself and the process.”

Pierson brings over six years of leadership experience spanning the residential and commercial property maintenance and restaurant industries. His background is rooted in strategic thinking, operational efficiency, and team development — skills he now applies to his role at Scout Metals.

Known for his ability to lead dynamic teams and consistently deliver customer-focused results, Pierson thrives in fast-paced, complex environments. Since joining the sales team at Scout Metals, he has demonstrated a strong passion for collaboration and results-driven growth. Meet Rodolfo Carabaza Gonzalez

20+ Years of Experience

Rodolfo holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and brings over 20 years of experience in the automotive exhaust industry. Throughout his career, he has held key roles at ArvinMeritor, EmCon, Johnson Matthey, Katcon, EMSA, and most recently, AK Tube/Cleveland-Cliffs.

Specializing in business development, sales, and customer service, Rodolfo has successfully worked with OEMs, Tier suppliers, and government contracts. Additionally, he has played a pivotal role in developing distributor channels for the aftermarket sector in Mexico and parts of the LATAM region. His extensive industry expertise and strategic approach make him a valuable partner in driving business growth and customer success.
